Who we are

Our management team has accumulated decades of experience in supply chain management in Africa. Each member of the team brings a different skillset to the company, which allows us to nimbly navigate markets of ever-increasing complexity.

Gert Kotze

Gert is the Managing Director of the Alto Vida Group and he has 15 years’ experience in the fresh produce industry – specifically in spheres of marketing and trading. He established all of Alto Vida’s African operations, and built a produce marketing and logistics business in South Africa that handled 14 000 tons of potatoes a year. He has forged strong relationships with major retailers in all of the countries which Alto Vida operates in.

John Kotze

John worked in construction and engineering for seven years, including two years on major construction projects in the UK. He has used this knowledge and experience to develop fresh produce warehouses and distribution centres throughout Africa. He is a refrigeration, warehousing and materials handling specialist who also has great knowledge of African hardwoods and the timber trade.

Robert Meintjes

Robert is a CIMA qualified Management Accountant who cut his teeth as an operations manager for an import and distribution company in Cameroon. He started working in Angola in 2011 with frozen fish, meat and fresh produce and still spends most of his time in Angola. He is a specialist in financial planning and business financing and he has an extensive understanding of the fiscal regulations in West Africa.

 Joffrey Vanreusel

Joffrey is charged with ensuring that all Alto Vida products meet our strict quality requirements. With an academic background in both Biology and International Trade (majoring in Supply Chains), he is tailor-made for the role. His experience as a logistics specialist for Toyota gives him the practical knowhow required to deliver world-class products to our customers across Africa. He is also part of the trading team that manages customer accounts in West Africa.
